Dr. Vincent Tinto and Available Research

Dr. Vincent Tinto* Dr. Vincent Tinto* is a renowned expert on the social dimensions of student learning.

He has carried out research and written extensively on higher education, focusing on how colleges and universities can build communities based on clear expectations, accessible support structures and academic challenge.

Dr. Tinto is currently a Distinguished University Professor at Syracuse University and Chair of the Higher Education Program.

Dr. Tinto received his Ph.D. in Education and Sociology from the University of Chicago; M.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and B.S. in Physics and Philosophy from Fordham University.
