MESA (Math, Engineering and Science Achievement)

Eligibility Requirements

§      Academic Eligibility

·       Must be ready for or enrolled in at least intermediate algebra (Math 96)

AND

·       Must intend to transfer to a four-year institution in a math-based major.  Contact MESA Program for possible majors.

§      Economic Eligibility - must be eligible for one or more of the following:

·         Board of Governor’s Waiver (BOGW)

·         EOPS

·         Gain

·         Need-based financial aid

·         TANF (formerly AFDC)/CAL Works

·         TRIO/Aspire program

Available Services

§       Academic Advising - Support and guidance with math, engineering and science classes

§       MESA Center Resources – Textbooks, computers and study area provided at MESA center

§       Tutors – Tutoring and mentoring provided in math, engineering and science courses

§       Scholarship Information

§       University Transfer Assistance - Field trips to universities, assistance with admissions applications and financial aid

§       Career Advising - Career guidance and job fair information

§       Industry Internships – Guidance in finding industry opportunities and summer internships

§       Assistance from MESA staff
