TRIO/ASPIRE

Goal – TRIO/ASPIRE is a student support services program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.  TRIO/ASPIRE targets students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university.  We strive to enhance self esteem, foster retention and persistence, and increase graduation/transfer rates.

Eligibility Requirements - Eligible participants should be highly motivated full-time City College students with a GPA of 2.5 or above who meet one or more of the following criteria:

§      A low income student, OR

§      A first generation college student, OR

§      A student registered with the Disability Support Programs and Services (DSPS) at City College

Applications - Applications are accepted at the beginning of Fall and Spring semester

Available Services and Opportunities

§      Counseling - Academic, Personal, Transfer and Scholarship Assistance

§      Tutoring - Group study, Individual Tutoring and Supplementary Instruction

§      Transfer Workshops – TAG Programs and University Campus Visits

§      Computer Support – Word Processing, Internet Access, Spreadsheets, etc.

§      Development of Leadership and Organizational Skills

§        On and Off Campus Referrals and Resources
