Eligibility Requirements

§      Students eligible for English 51 AND Personal Growth 127 in Fall.
Note:  All coursework for Puente program begins in the Fall semester.

§      Plan on transferring to a university

§      Commitment to participate in Puente activities

§      There are no GPA, unit load, or residency restrictions for eligibility

§      Work with a counselor on transfer preparation and signing transfer agreements

§      Be better informed about financial aid, and applying for scholarships

§      Participate in culturally-enriching activities

§      Referrals to other on campus and off campus resources

Requirements for Completion of Puente Program

§      Completion of 3 unit Personal Growth 127 class

§      Completion of two consecutive writing classes: English 51 and 101

§      Commitment to a minimum of 9 hours of contact with Puente mentor during the academic year

§      Students remain in Puente until they transfer to a four-year university.
