National University MOU
National
University
recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the California
Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office intended to facilitate the
transfer of students from community college to NU. Some important points
in the MOU are:
·
CCC
transfer students will be guaranteed admission to NU if they have earned
a transferable GPA of at least 2.0 (higher for some majors) at the time
of admission.
·
NU
will accept the CSU GE or IGETC patterns in lieu of its own lower
division GE requirements.
·
CCC
transfer students will retain NU catalog rights from the academic year
of enrollment at the community college in which they began lower
division preparation (not to exceed seven years).
·
NU
will waive the standard application fee ($60) and provide a scholarship
for the last two classes completed in a bachelor’s degree program at NU
(approx $2000) for CCC transfer students.
·
Additional scholarship opportunities are available to students
transferring with honors (minimum 3.5 GPA) or those meeting other
criteria.
We expect to receive
more information on the implementation of this agreement in the near
future.
