Each class includes five industry presentations that require students to research the particular business, write a practice resume for that business, and conduct a mock interview for that business. This course offers instruction in the association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) alphabetic filing rules and techniques. 101 Real Estate Principles

This course covers the fundamentals of the economics of land ownership and use and the responsibility of broker, owner and purchaser; terminology and definitions and the varied vocational opportunities in the general field of real estate are also covered. Completion of this course is required prior to taking the exam for the California Real Estate Salesperson's License. This course also applies as an elective toward the State's educational requirements for the broker's examination. 105 Legal Aspects of Real Estate I
3 hours, 3 units Grade Only

This course studies California Real Estate law with emphasis on its practical application to legal problems arising from real estate transactions, statutory enactments and case law, legal instruments, zoning ordinances, and city and county planning decisions. Attention is given to California real estate law. This course applies toward the State's educational Economics (ECON) Marketing (MARK) Real Estate (REAL) requirements for the broker's examination and as an elective for the salesperson's license. 110 Principles of Real Estate Appraisal I

This course is an introductory course covering the purposes of appraisals, the appraisal process, and the different approaches, methods, and techniques used to determine the value of various types of property. 111 Introduction to USPAP
1 hour, 1 unit Grade Only

This course provides students with an understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Course content includes USPAP definitions; the Appraisal Standards Board and its activities; coverage and scope of USPAP; USPAP Standards, Statements on Appraisal Standards, and Advisory Opinions. Completion of this course will satisfy the Office of Real Estate Appraisers (OREA) 15- hour USPAP requirement as part of the 75 hours of acceptable education for the Trainee License. 115 Real Estate Finance I
3 hours, 3 units Grade Only

This course analyzes the financing of real estate. Topics will include types of financing sources; loans and loan processing; governmental loans, methods of financing residential properties; with an overview of financing business, income, commercial and industrial properties; and property appraisal and taxation. This course is designed to develop communications skills for supervisors, consistent with good human relations principles. The emphasis will be on listening and speaking in a variety of on-the-job situations such as one-to one, small group, and large group communications.
