Excellent
Opportunities for Men and Woman: |
Both men and women are needed as substance abuse counselors. Great
opportunities exist in this field for both sexes.
|
| |
Departmental
Tips: |
 |
The Program includes a 255-hour clinical
field internship where students work in a community rehabilitation
centers for a semester. Internships often result in jobs. |
 |
Students should start their AODS
certificate program by taking General Psychology (Psych 101) and
Introduction to Sociology (Soc. 101). |
 |
Full-time students can complete
the certificate program in one academic year (two semesters and a summer
session). |
 |
Students recovering from substance abuse
problems in their own lives are welcome in the AODS program. Young
people with one or two years of sobriety are especially employable for
work in adolescent treatment facilities.
