Why City College:
  • City College offers the only associate degree in electricity in San Diego County.

City College offers the only associate degree in electricity in San Diego County. Courses range from basic to advanced and cover electrical theory, codes and blueprints, industrial equipment installation and the uses of motor controls. No prior knowledge of electricity is required to enter the program. Students can earn certificates of achievement in electricity and electrical control systems as well as an associate degree in electricity.

Excellent Opportunities for Men and Woman:
Great opportunities are available for both women and men in the field of electricity.

Departmental Tips:

Beginning students should purchase a calculator to use in classes.

City College offers electricity courses in the evenings only during fall and spring semesters.

Many local firms hiring electricians allow training and education in electricity at City College to substitute for standard work experience.

City College provides advanced training courses to electricians currently working in industry.
