The City College Manufacturing Technology program prepares students as industrial technicians to work with various system components developed by product designers. Manufacturing technology courses teach both applied skills and theoretical concepts. Students learn to use automated equipment, how to read blue prints and test metallurgical materials, and the characteristics and uses of different metals. Students can earn a certificate of achievement and/or an associate degree in manufacturing technology.

A growing demand in San Diego for trained manufacturing technicians offers both women and men opportunities for well- paying careers in manufacturing technology.
