The City College Nursing
program
prepares
students to take the National
Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
Nursing students learn how to promote and maintain the health of
people of all ages, providing health care during illness, injury and
rehabilitation in hospitals, clinics, retirement homes, and in private
residences. Basic nursing training can be a stepping stone for both
men and women to careers in nursing education or hospital
administration and health care case management. Part-time positions
are plentiful locally and opportunities nationwide are excellent for
students willing to relocate.

special application. Information packet; and application forms are
available from the admissions office and the nursing department.
|

Nursing students, after first completing
program prerequisites, are placed on a waiting list. Students who have
completed their prerequisites are admitted in order of priority.
|
 |
After the first semester in the program,
nursing students are eligible for Nursing Assistant certification
which permits them to work in hospitals and clinics.
|
 |
