Photographers record images on film using digital technology to illustrate and explain ideas. They then develop the images into pictures for presentations. Photographers usually specialize in a subject matter such as portraits, landscapes, nature or news. They must be able to use a variety of camera formats such as 35 millimeter, 120,4x5 and digital.

Experience:
Two to four years of on-the-job training and course work at a community college or university, art or vocational school. Employers prefer college background in art and good writing skills.

  • Helping subjects relax in front of a camera
