course is a historical survey of radio and television as sociological forces in

This is an introductory course to train actors in the fundamentals of voice
technique, dialects and voiceover. Emphasis in the voice-over component includes
microphone technique, character voices and cartoon voices for commercial use, as
well as cold reading audio-taped audition skills. Other components include cold
reading techniques, fundamental acting techniques required for voice-over work,
and the production of a voice-over demo tape, This course provides a
comprehensive introduction to students intending to enter a career in dramatic

improvisational and interview techniques, and the fundamental acting techniques
required for camera, scene, and monologue studies. This course provides a

nature, television news varies and the student has unique weekly news gathering
experiences. Skills and proficiencies are enhanced by supervised repetition and
practice within class periods. Learning objectives are obtained through active
