Child Development Center

The Child Development Center offers an educational program for children six weeks to five years old.  Enrollment is limited to children of parents attending day classes at City College. Parents must participate at the center three hours per week each semester their child is enrolled and must take Child Development 160 and 161 the first year they enroll a child in the program.

Primary application periods are:
the first two full weeks in May for fall enrollment.
the first two full weeks in December for spring enrollment.

Fall 2015 Wait list application Information:
As stated above the primary wait list application period has passed. The Center is closed for the summer. The offices will reopen August 10th. Spring 2016 Enrollment The application period will be the first two full weeks in December. This list will be used to fill any spaces that become available. To get on the wait list the following documents must be brought to the Child Development Center: child's birth certificate, verification of November income or financial assistance, immunization records, and verification of single status for single parents.

The City College Child Development Center provides a supportive environment that encourages the development of professional skills for working with families and children. We provide an extended family that acknowledges and respects the diversity of the families and students we serve.

Children enrolled at the Child Development Center take field trips to places of interest in East Village such as the new public library and Smarts Farm.
