San Diego City College (SDCC) is thrilled to announce its new partnership with TBH, a leading provider of virtual basic needs support services for students. This dynamic collaboration will offer SDCC students complimentary access to virtual Resource Navigators, who will assist them in identifying and securing benefit programs and support services they are eligible for. These valuable resources will be easily accessible through an intuitive student app, providing real-time updates, appointment scheduling, and case management.
As a beacon of student success and achievement, SDCC is committed to providing comprehensive support for students both inside and outside the classroom. By relieving students of the burden of navigating public benefit programs and support services, SDCC is creating a more equitable environment for all students and allowing them to focus on their academic and professional pursuits.
"We are thrilled to partner with TBH and the potential it holds for our students,”
said Ricky Shabazz, Ed.D., president of San Diego City College. “In today's constantly
evolving higher education landscape, it is crucial that we provide our students with
the necessary support to thrive. This partnership allows us to do just that."
The services provided by TBH are particularly crucial, as national survey data shows
that one in three college students across the US have experienced food insecurity
in the last 30 days and one in ten have been homeless in the past year. Through TBH,
SDCC students will have access to various resources including food, housing, transportation,
childcare, legal, and immigration support.
In addition to providing essential assistance to students in need, TBH's end-to-end digital platform allows for tracking and monitoring of student progress, facilitating appropriate interventions and collaboration with campus stakeholders.
Anjali Menon, CEO of TBH, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "San Diego City College has always been at the forefront of innovation and is a champion of student success and wellness. By partnering with the college, we hope to enrich students' experience and create a supportive environment for them to achieve their full potential. We are proud to be a part of their journey."
