Congratulations on Your Dissertation, Tillie!
February 18, Matilda “Tillie” Chavez successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at Old Dominion University, earning her Ph.D. in Community College Leadership. Her study, Identifying Professional Development Needs of Deans at California Community Colleges, examined leadership competency gaps among deans and senior administrators across 17 California community colleges. The research identified significant needs in equity and cultural responsiveness, conflict management, communication, and leadership practices, providing an important foundation to strengthen professional development for community college leaders.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Chavez on this outstanding achievement and the meaningful contribution her work makes to advancing leadership across California’s community colleges.
