Spring 36-Hour Work Week Pilot
Duration: January 5 through April 3
This spring, some campus offices will operate on a 36-hour work week as part of a district pilot program. Your classes are not affected, and instructors’ schedules remain the same. The goal is to ensure student support remains strong while the district tests a new operational model.
What Stays the Same
- Your class schedule and instructional hours do not change.
- Essential student services such as enrollment, counseling, financial aid, tutoring, and support programs continue each week.
- Email, phone, and online services remain available.
What’s Changing
Some offices may adjust their in-person hours during the pilot period. When an office is closed for in-person service, students will often still be able to get help through:
- Online forms
- Virtual appointments
- Phone support
Student Services and Instructional Services office hours will be adjusting office hours during the pilot period. Updated hours for each department will be posted at office entrances and on the college website. For more information, visit the program web page.
How to Get Help
If you are unsure whether an office is open:
- Check the Campus Hours & Services webpage
- Look for updated signs posted around campus
- Ask any staff member for directions or assistance
Why This Pilot Is Happening
The district is testing whether a 36-hour operational schedule can:
- Improve efficiency
- Support employee well-being
- Enhance service to students
Student access to support remains the top priority throughout the pilot.
Important Notes for Students
- January 2 is a district holiday; the campus will be closed.
- After Spring Break, all offices return to normal operating hours.
