Welcome to the Tutorial / Learning Center!
Mission Statement:
The Tutorial/Learning Center provides community-based, flexible learning environments to help City College students become more effective and confident independent learners and citizens. We aim to serve the entire campus community by offering many programs, services, and courses.
Program Outcomes:
Improve grades through use of Tutorial Center services: Students will improve their grades in the course(s) in which they receive tutorial assistance. Increase Persistence and Retention: Students will persist and stay in course(s) until the end of the semester. No withdraw grade in student's final grade. Increase Self-Confidence: After receiving tutoring services and attending study skills workshops, students will improve their confidence in learning and mastering the subject(s).
Summer 2022
FIRST DAY OF TUTORING: TUESDAY, JUNE 21
To support students enrolled in City's online courses, the Tutorial/Learning Center (TLC) is providing FREE tutoring services with three options : In-Person Tutoring, Canvas Tutoring and eTutoring.
1. Canvas Tutoring
The TLC is offering online tutoring via Zoom with TLC tutors in Biology, Chemistry, COMS, CISC, ENGE, Math, Physics, and Spanish. It will be staffed exclusively with San Diego City College Tutorial/Learning Center tutors. This support service will be added to your Canvas shell under the name DS-CITY-ONLINE-TUTORING.

2. In-Person Tutoring
The TLC will be offering in person tutoring during Summer 2022. Our hours in person are Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00am - 2:00pm.
Regarding on-campus services, out of care and concern for the health and safety of the entire campus community, all faculty, employees, community members, and students who are on campus and indoors must wear a mask. If you do not have a mask, we can provide you one at any of the Student Services areas or designated Welcome Centers. Additionally, your professor will have access to disposable masks to distribute to you, should you require a replacement mask during class. 3. eTutoring
Available 7 days a week. In addition to City College tutors, eTutoring has tutors from over 130 two and four-year, public and private colleges and universities across America to assist you.
