Welcome and Mission

The San Diego City College Evaluations Department's highest priority is to enhance students' goal of completion by informing and supporting students through their applications of certificate, degree, or general education certification petitions, and provide information to the campus commencement ceremony in a timely and efficient manner.

For questions, please email us at sdcityeval@sdccd.edu.  (Please allow 4 - 7 business days for response.)  Please include your City College ID number and a phone number so we can better assist you.  We are located in Room A-301 and our Spring and Fall hours are:

Monday-Thursday from 8:30am - 5pm, and
Fridays from 8:00am - 1:00pm

What can the City Evaluations Office do for you?

We are here to provide services to help you submit your petition for graduation and transfer.  We have transitioned to a new online submission process. 

The following forms, along with supporting documents, can be submitted electronically after meeting with one of our Academic Counselors.

  • Petition for Appeal of Enrollment Priority and/or Loss of CCPG
  • Academic Renewal with Course Repetition 
    (Please submit one petition per course at a time. Otherwise form will be rejected.)
  • Academic Renewal without Course Repetition
  • Major Electives Form
  • Request for Transcript Evaluation
    Note: All official transcripts must be received prior to submitting this request.
  • Modification of Graduation Requirements 
    (Please submit one petition per modification at a time. Otherwise form will be rejected.)
  • Request for General Education Certification
  • Reinstatement After Disqualification (3rd Disqualification)
  • Student Academic Contract
  • Unit Overrides (Student Petition)

Important Deadlines:

Spring 2023

February 15, 2023 - Deadline to Apply for Graduation for students transferring to a CSU in Fall 2023 who are completing an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or an Associate of Science for Transfer (AS-T)/ (ADT) Associate Degree for Transfer.

March 15, 2023 - Deadline to file an Application for Graduation and ensure their name will be included in the commencement program. 

April 30, 2023 - Deadline to file an Application for Graduation and be a Spring 2023 graduate.  Students filing after this date will be Summer 2023 graduates.  

Summer 2023

July 31, 2023 - Deadline to Apply for Graduation and be a Summer 2023 graduate.  Students filing after this date will be Fall 2023 graduates.

IGETC Certification

July 31, 2023 - Deadline to submit the Request for General Ed Certification form to have your IGETC certified 

Both the IGETC and CSU General Ed Certification requires two weeks of processing time.

District Evaluators

San Diego Community College District Evaluation's website  contains information for District-wide evaluations information.

The District Evaluators are available remotely to determine which courses are applicable toward your Certificate, Associate Degree or for Transfer and are also responsible for evaluating many of the forms which affect your permanent academic record.
