Commercial Music Facilities Access 

The Computer Music Labs and the City College Recording Studio are reserved for the exclusive use of students currently enrolled in Commercial Music classes and Music 124A/B: Piano Class.

The current Open Lab Hours for Rooms C207 and C210, as of 10/28/2024, are:

Computer Music Labs 

Labs are equipped with Mac computers running Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Reason, Ableton Live, and other music production software. A variety of MIDI controllers and microphones are also available. 

C206P, C206Q (Music Production Stations) - reserve here
Monday - Friday 9:30am - 4:30pm
These stations are located among the RTVF editing suites. Each room includes an Akai APC Key25 MIDI controller,  ROLI Seaboard MPE controller, Nektar 88-key MIDI controller, Advanced Audio CM87 large-diaphragm condenser mic (with cable, and stand), and studio headphones. RTVF staff member Craig Chatfield can provide access. 

C207 (Music Production Stations, Vocal Booth, Digital Pianos) - no reservation needed

C210 (Music Production Stations, Mini Studio Mix Station, 1 Digital Piano) - no reservation needed

City College Recording Studio (Room C208/209) 

The Studio (C208/209) requires advance reservations and may be reserved only by students who have successfully completed the Studio Certification Exam. Limit one 90-minute block per student per week. Additional blocks may be booked on a stand-by basis. To request studio time, please use our booking web page.

For sessions in the Recording Studio, faculty/staff members will offer guidance on basic studio setup and offer troubleshooting support. Students are expected to provide their own engineer, if needed.
