The San Diego City College Transfer Center offers workshops, application assistance, coordinates university rep visits, campus tours, and our annual Transfer Fairs to help students prepare and plan for transfer. Friday, March 6, 12pm-1pm | Virtual

In this workshop you’ll learn essential information that every transfer student needs to know. We’ll discuss general education requirements, how to find major requirements for your school, transfer timelines, transfer guarantee options & more!

Spring Transfer Options Fair

Wednesday, April 15, 10am-1pm | A Bldg/Schwartz Square

Save the date for our Spring University Transfer Fair. This fair is hosted by San Diego City College and coordinated in collaboration with the San Diego Education Consortium of schools. 

Our spring fair will provide you with an opportunity to connect with local campuses (SDSU, CSUSM, UCSD, Point Loma Nazarene, USD, National University), as well as the full San Diego Consortium of schools. You will also have an opportunity to meet with representatives from other local private and out of state schools offering both traditional and non-traditional, online education options!

The Transfer Center hosts a variety of workshops throughout the year. Select the workshop below to expand the description.

Planning to transfer to a university? Transfer 101 is your go-to workshop for understanding the key steps in the transfer process. This workshop will cover just about everything you need to know, including:

  • General education patterns
  • Major preparation courses
  • Transfer guarantee programs
  • Application timelines and deadlines
  • Resources to support your transfer goals

We will also leave time for Q & A.

Are you a first-time college student planning to transfer to a California State University (CSU)? The Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) Workshop is designed to help you understand how to get guaranteed admission into a participating TSP school. In this  workshop, we will walk you through the TSP application process, benefits, and eligibility requirements.

Enrollment Period: August 1 - October 31 (annually)

This workshop is for first-time college students who are enrolled in their first semester of college only.

Want to secure your spot at a UC campus? Learn how to qualify for a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) at one of 6 participating UC campuses! This workshop will cover:

  • TAG eligibility requirements
  • Prerequisites & major/campus admission criteria
  • Application deadlines & key steps
  • How to get started on your UC TAG application

Note: UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD do not participate in UC TAG.

Need help with your UC, CSU, or other university applications? In our Transfer Center labs a team member can assist you with questions about your application. We can support with:

  • Application questions & troubleshooting
  • Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) during select hours & checking your application to ensure it's complete
  • Submission steps & next steps after applying

We offer in-person and virtual support throughout transfer application seasons.

During the fall and spring semester we host University Transfer Fairs right here at San Diego City College. Don’t miss the chance to connect directly with college admissions representatives and explore your transfer options at a variety of campuses!

At the Transfer Fair, you can:

  • Meet university representatives and ask about admissions, programs, and student life
  • Learn about transfer requirements, financial aid, and support services
  • Discover unique opportunities at public, private, and out-of-state universities

Fall Transfer Fair: October.

Spring Transfer Fair: April.

Need help crafting strong Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) for your UC application? Join a PIQ Workshop to get guidance on how UC campuses use PIQs, what the UC's are looking for, and advice on what you might include in your PIQ's.

Workshops are led by Transfer Center staff or UC representatives, depending on the session. 

Learn what to expect after you submit your application, which documents will be requested, the admission timeline, and more.

Connect with university representatives on campus and virtually! Reps from UCs, CSUs, private, and out-of-state universities visit periodically to answer your questions about admissions, majors, financial aid, etc.

Each May, we celebrate our admitted transfer students with a week of activities to recognize their hard work and achievements! Join us for a week-long celebration featuring:
