Professional Advancement Committee
The San Diego City College Professional Advancement Committee (PAC) is a standing committee of the Academic Senate. The PAC facilitates salary advancement, recommends sabbatical leaves, and reviews contract faculty evaluations in accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement with the District.
PAC Standing Membership
Academic Senate (6-10):
At-large faculty, a balanced representation among disciplines. Desired membership: A minimum of one representative from each school, plus counseling. Term: Three years.

Chair (1):
Elected by the members of the Professional Advancement Committee from its membership.
Duties
- Presents workshops to promote salary advancement and sabbatical application processes.
- Solicits, evaluates, rates, and recommends sabbatical leave requests as authorized by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
- Approves sabbatical leave reports.
- Evaluates and approves professional development proposals and completion reports for salary advancement post-hire date.
- Facilitates licensure/certification fee reimbursement.
- Reviews all contract faculty evaluations, including tenure and/or promotional recommendations, to ensure they are procedurally correct and meet general college and district standards.
- Reviews non-promotional evaluation appeals as granted by Section 15.1.13 of the CBA to ensure the evaluation is procedurally sound.
- Facilitates the tenure, review, and promotion process which brings evaluation committee recommendations to the President of the college.
- Reports actions to the Academic Senate and Academic Senate Executive Committee.

Salary Advancement Information
Salary advancement forms should be received by the PAC Chair (Lisa Will) by the 26th of each month during the academic year for review at the next month's meeting. Currently, the PAC Chair is responding to queries on Fridays. Thank you for your patience!
