Promise Orientations
Welcome to the City College Promise Program!
This page contains information about Promise Orientations.
What are Promise Orientations?
Promise orientation sessions are events designed by staff and students to support
new admits to the Promise Program with navigating higher education. These sessions
are informational presentations that include activities to ensure students are equipped
with the knowledge to succeed in their academic journey.
What types of information are shared at Promise Orientations?
Promise orientations inform students about:
- Promise benefits
- Promise requirements
- Promise policies
- Promise petitions and exceptions
- Important college dates and deadlines
- Campus services and programs
- Other miscellanous tips and recommendations
Who is required to attend?
ALL new Promise students MUST attend one orientation session in their first semester in the program. Students
do NOT need to attend orientation again after one session. Returning students to the
program do NOT need to attend orientation unless their period of absence has been
longer than 3 years.
I can't come to campus. How can I access orientation content?
Students that are unable to visit the campus for an in-person session must contact the program for alternatives. Alternatives include virtual sessions via Microsoft Teams as well as a fully-online version with a quiz component.
Students can email [email protected] to access an online/virtual alternative.
Fall 2026 Orientations
Fall 2026 live sessions are no longer available. For an alternative, students must email [email protected].
