Fall Transfer Information
Transfer information provided is based on general UC & CSU deadlines and is subject to change without notice. Some dates may vary by campus. Some majors and programs require that courses be completed by specific deadlines. Please meet with your counselor to review the most current information for your transfer campus and major.

California State University (CSU) Transfer Timeline*
August 1: CSU Application opens.
October 1- November 30: CSU Fall Priority Application Filing Period. Check respective campus & department websites for supplemental application dates/deadlines where applicable. Nnursing, film, dance, music and other majors may require supplemental material or a portfolio by a specified deadline.

Fall (one year prior to your transfer term)
- August 1: CSU application opens. Attend an application workshop or application lab in the Transfer Center and begin working on your application in Cal State Apply.
- October 1: CSU application filing period begins (students may submit their application now through November 30.)
- October: Apply for the upcoming year's FAFSA or California Dream Act (CADAA) beginning in October so that you may receive a financial aid decision and offer near the time that admissions decisions are released.
- November 30: CSU application filing period ends (students must submit their application by 11:59pm on November 30 unless their campus explicity offers an extension.

Winter (prior to transfer)
- December - January: Check your email regularly for instructions from prospective universities to set up your university portal accounts. Monitor your portal for updates and next steps required by the university.
- Complete CSU supplemental applications (e.g., SJSU, CSULB) and program materials (e.g., music, film) if required.
- January 31: Deadline to complete the CSU Academic History Update in Cal State Apply. Update fall grades & spring course schedule (and report academic renewals if applicable).

Spring (the semester prior to your transfer admission term)
- Apply for graduation no later than February 15 in your mySDCCD portal if you plan to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) by the end of spring.
- February-March: Most CSU campuses release admission decisions.
- March 2: Deadline to submit FAFSA or California Dream Act (CADAA) applications.
- March-April: Compare financial aid offers, attend admitted student events/next steps workshops if applicable.
- May 1: Submit your Statement of Intent to Enroll along with payment and transcripts if requested to secure your spot at your CSU campus. Deadlines may vary. Please check deadlines inside your university's portal.
- Secure housing by established deadlines (if applicable).
Summer (immediately prior to transfer)
- June 30: Order final transcripts to reflect spring grades & submit request for GE Certification (CSUGE, IGETC, or Cal-GETC) when requested. Some colleges may request transcripts sooner. Students earning an Associate Degree for Transfer for CSU Admissions will need to submit an additional transcript showing completion of your degree.
- July-August: Submit required enrollment documents, including immunizations. Attend
orientation to prepare for your new university journey!
University of California (UC) Transfer Timeline*

Summer (one year before transfer)
- June-July: Begin to draft UC Personal Insight Questionsfor UC Application.
Fall (one year prior to your transfer term)
- August 1: UC Application opens (submit between October 1-November 30). Attend an application workshop in the Transer Center or with your prospective campus. Start your application on the University of California website. If you have a UC TAP account you may import the data to your UC application.
- September 1-30: Submit your UC TAG application inside of the UC Transfer Admission Planner if you would like to secure guaranteed admission to a participating TAG campus. Attend a TAG workshop if you need more information about TAG.
- October 1: UC application is available for submission.
- October: Apply for the 2026-2027 FAFSA or California Dream Act (CADAA) beginning in October to ensure you have a decision at or near when you receive your admissions decision in the spring.
- Submit your UC application by November 30.
- Submit supplemental application materials if requested.
Winter (prior to transfer)
- Check your email, set up and monitor your university portal regularly for updates and next steps from your prospective universities.
- January 31: Deadline to submit your UC Transfer Academic Update (TAU). Enter your fall grades and update winter/spring courses. Continue to update your application through March if you make changes to your spring courses.

Spring (the semester prior to your transfer admission term)
- Apply for graduation no later than February 15 in your mySDCCD portal if you plan to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) by the end of spring.
- March 2: Complete your FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by the March 2nd priority deadline.
- March-April: Universities release admission decisions
- April-May: Compare financial aid offers, attend admitted student events
- Submit your housing application by the deadline (if applicable)
Summer (immediately prior to transfer)
- June 1: Submit your Statement of Intent to Enroll (SIR) along with deposit if required to secure your spot at the UC campus you wish to attend by 11:59pm PST. (Students that were eligible for the UC fee waiver may also qualify for an SIR depost deferral until financial aid is disbursed.)
- July 1: Deadline to submit final transcripts that reflect spring grades. Transcripts must be postmarked by this date.
- July 15 - submit request for GE Certification (IGETC, or Cal-GETC) if applicable. AP/IB and other test scores due if applicable.
- July-August: Attend orientation and complete final steps to prepare for the exciting journey ahead!
