Career Counseling Appointments

Career counselors provide the foundation for acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that enable you to make a successful transition from school to the world of work. At San Diego City College we strongly encourage all students to first visit with us for a career counseling appointment prior to seeking an educational planning appointment.

Counselor Interpreted Assessments

To reap the maximum benefit of your self-exploration phase, the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator and the My Plan assessments should be conducted by an experienced career counselor in the San Diego City College Counseling Department. To schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor please call (619) 388-3540 during regular business hours, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, visit us in room A-366, or email: CityCounseling@sdccd.edu.

  1. MBTI - The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is a self-report inventory designed to identify a person’s personality type, strengths, and preferences. In order to take the MBTI assessment, please contact the Transfer/Career Center at (619) 388-3722 to access your MBTI student log-in directions.
  2. My Plan - MyPlan.com consists of 4 career assessment tests — the personality test, interest inventory, skills profiler and values assessment — all designed to ensure satisfaction in one’s future career.
